Fishing

Lake Limestone  on the Navasota River 15 miles Southeast of Groesbeck.  Predominant  fish include Large Mouth Bass, White Bass, Crappie, and Channel,Blue,and  Flathead Catfish.

Fort  Parker State Park Lake is South of Mexia on Hwy 14.  Predominant fish  include Channel and Blue Catfish, White Bass and Crappie.

Hunting

There are Rifle and Archery hunting seasons for White Tail Deer, Squirrel, upland and wetland game birds.

Camping

Fort Parker State Park Lake is located about 5 miles out of Groesbeck on Hwy 14, between Groesbeck and Mexia.

Lake Limestone Campgrounds and Marina is located off 39 near Farrar. For more information see website.

Floating & Canoeing

The  Limestone Bluff's Paddling Trail covers about 5.3 miles of quiet water  on the Navasota River from the Confederate Reunion Grounds to Fort  Parker State Park.  The route is characterized by hardwood bottomlands  and limestone bluffs, and wildlife such as waterfowl, beavers and  white-tailed deer are commonly seen.
